The latest headline to come out of the Catholic sexual abuse scandals is that Los Angeles Cardinal Roger M. Mahony hid evidence that clergymen were molesting children. David Clohessy, executive director of the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests, joins John Fugelsang on "Viewpoint" to assess the ongoing scandal of sexual abuse. "This is a monarchy, and as much as this scandal has tarnished the Catholic hierarchy, the men at the top of the pyramid still have faced little, if any, consequences for their dreadful wrongdoing," Clohessy says. "For that reason, their power remains intact, and for that reason, I think, we've seen so little change on their part." |
